EricRoberson~EasyMoBee~MilesDavis~StanleyClarke~RoyHargrove~and more!

Eric Roberson <Sol Village> @SOBs on 08.17.2011.
It was a first time to see Eric Roberson <Sol Village> show in 10 years. I cant believe that I didnt go such a long time... Great meeting my friends who are working at SOBs.
DJ Magneto, Papa Jube, Johnny Quest, Peter, and Bouncers...Always great hanging with you guys!
And the same night Johnny had an accoustic night with Bazaar the Royale @ Bubble Lounge.
Both are really good shows actually, saw some musicians whom I know there too.
I made a new good friend there too but I start realizing finally that my conversation is sometimes difficult and too much for non-music people??? Probably my conversation is too much core about music to non-music person???
Hmmm....
Anyways, I was hanging with my great friends, Easy Mo Bee and Big (Zulu) Jeff on 08.20.2011 in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn for someone's Birthday party @ The Emerson. I had not seen Easy Mo Bee after hanging out together with Miles Davis family at Miles Davis 85th Birthday exclusive party.
This was some historical night... at Miles Davis 85th birthday party, May 26th 2011.

I wish more hiphop people could come to the party but I did my best to gather people for them, expecially for Miles Davis nephew, Vince Willburn Jr (Drum).
It was the same day for leasing party for Monster® Miles Davis Tribute™ High Performance In-Ear Speakers and there was a promotion at J&R wall street. We gathered there together and moved to the party place. We celebrated Miles 85th birthday with Miles Davis Family...it was touchy, good vibe...and I couldnt believe that I was part of it...Thank God...
I could meet Great musicians like Onaje Allan Gumbs, Mino Cinelu along with Vince Wilburn, Jr. (nephew of Miles Davis); Cicely Tyson (actress, former wife of Miles Davis) Cheryl Davis (daughter of Miles Davis), Erin Davis (son of Miles Davis) Noel Lee (CEO of Monster Cable) and more.
Especially when I saw Easy Mo Bee came, I was feeling so light and right! I am so glad that he made it to come as for Miles Davis family, Easy Mo Bee is very special.
Jazz pioneer Miles Davis approached the young producer to help fuse Jazz and Hip-Hop. These sessions would become his last album, 1992's Doo Bop. The project, released posthumously after Davis died during the recording process, leaving the project unfinished, garnered generally positive reviews. To finish off the album, producer Easy Mo Bee was asked to take some of the unreleased trumpet performances (stemming from what Davis called the RubberBand Session), and build tracks that Miles 'would have loved' around the recordings. The album's posthumous songs (as stated in the liner notes) are "High Speed Chase" and "Fantasy." A reprise of the song "Mystery" rounded out the album's nine-track length

The night before the Miles Davis Birthday, we went out to see Stanley Clarke @ Blue Note with special guest Lenny White and Wallace Roney!!!
We all hang out with Stanley's drummer Ronald Bruner Jr (Drum) after the show with Vince, Igmar Thomas (Trumpet)Wallace Roney (Trumpet), Lenny White (Drum)and Mile Davis Son Erin Davis.
Then there we met my favorite trumpetter ROY HARGROVE and his band members after playing @ Village Vanguard hanging @ Smalls. Stacy Dillard, Ameen Saleem. Willie Jones Ⅲ and more were there too.It was a very special night for real! We started jamming and ohhhhhhh my god... heavenly dream night for Jazz freak!!!
After Miles Davis Birthday party I went to see King Britt, Rich Medina and DJ Spinna party with House singers show like Singer girl from SoulⅡSoul at Santos party house.
Miles Davis family, Vince came out with Igmar Thomas, Easy Mo Bee, Mehgan, Vince, and more to Santos later to join us.Grand Puba, Dane One from Brand Nubian, joined us.
We all had a great fantastic night ;-)
This is happening very much in NY...I love music and I love NY...

Funky Funk Lover -2- Mandrill, The BarKays, and NY musicians

Again, I had a great musical week...haaaaaaaaa It was all fun out.
Thursday 08-11-2011, legendary latin funk band <MANDRILL> was @ B.B King in NY. It was aaaaaa....AAAAA!!! So FUNKY and REAL! Oh my GOSH! MANDRILL, MANDRILL, MANDRILL!
Still they were mad funky and mad cool! It could be I was the youngest one there at the club... Old folks got Funk and got Crazy, screaming and dancing!!! It was nice to see them like that, powerful and energetic.

On Friday 08-12-2011, @ Dizzy's lincoln center Jazz I went to see my very great drummer friend, Willie Jones Ⅲ with Cedar Walton Quintet. That was very sexy Jazz...Again this old Jazz pianist, Cedar Walton is one of the legends. That is so good to hear him playing piano with funky cool Drummer Willie Jones.
Then Saturday, and Sunday 08-13/14-2011, I was with the legendary funk band <The BarKays>!!!!!!!! I had been waiting for them to come for months! This FUNK band came to NY from Memphis to play at Lincoln Center Jazz out of Doors show. Unfortunately as they got the Empire hotel on Saturday AM, it started dark in the sky and by the night we had a heavy rain...damn!
In this heavy rain we went out from Harlem to Village, ended up with the club called Groove. Another legendary drummer, Dennis Davis who played with Stevie Wonder, Roy Ayers, David Bowie, George Benson and more-took us around and showed NY to this Memphis BarKays Drummer, Carlos Sargent! It was very nice of him to take us around by his car...Thank you Dennis!
We wished this nasty rain gonna be dry out but our wish didnt get to the sky. Sound Check was from 1pm in heavy rain and the show was 7-8pm in real heavy rain!
We were not sure how many people were coming to see the show as it is outdoor. But once the show started, quite good amount people were there! I was very surprised! Also the BarKays did play some songs tribute to Otis Redding, Sam&Dave and more old school. You remember <SHAFT>? The original BarKays members recorded that song! And I could hear this SHAFT played by BarKays!!!Yey!!!
I wish I could hear more FUNK BarKays, but hold it till next time then...It was really great meeting some of my old and new good friends in NY!!!  Like Darrahl Stanley and Bryan Nesbitt from the BarKays...real funny good people! I really had a great time spending time with you guys!
And the only original member-leader and Bass Player- James Alexander who was the only Bar-Kays member not aboard that flight as the plane, a Beechcraft owned by Redding, only held eight occupants (Redding, five of the Bar-Kays, the pilot and Redding's road manager) it was Alexander's turn in the rotation to board a commercial flight to the next destination. Alexander had the task of identifying the bodies of his bandmates, as well as that of Redding. After the crash, Ben Cauley, the sole survivor among those who were aboard the plane, worked with Alexander to reform the band. Subsequent work included the soundtrack recording of the Academy Award-winning theme song from the 1971 feature film Shaft, on which Alexander played bass guitar. As of 2010, Alexander continues on as the only original member in still-active Bar-Kays.
Also the Lead Vocal,  Larry Dodson it was pleasure meeting you!
After the show we went to see Willie Jones at Dizzys again, another Drummers connection I made. I love Drummers! Well, I love musicians!!!It was great to see them together and talked deep music stuff and talking about NY how beautiful to be in NY for musicians!
Thank you very much for the fantastic weekend... ;-)

♪I Love JAPAN♪☆Japan Benefit in New York!!!

How many people still remember that Japan had a big earthquake, Tsunami this year? Since then I have been trying to support any Japan benefit events and I started singing again myself also.
This is all for my lovely beautiful country JAPAN.
Fortunately my home town KYOTO was ok but still I hear there are so many earthquakes going on in Japan all the time.

I started singing for Danny Eason & Don't Give UpInternational Choir. This is for strictly Japan benefit. We are all great powerful singers singing voluntarily for Love to Japan. Now what we do sing for is to sell the music <Don't Give Up> then the money from sales straight goes to Japan. We unfortunately didn't record this song, it was already recorded by others but as we keed performing, we hope more people would know about us and can spread love to Japan.
