BIG DADDY KANE~The Meters~Questlove~LAW~James Ajax Baynard~etc

Girls, Calm down, calm down....
YES, I finally got a pic with one of my favorite MC BIG DADDY KANE!!!
It was his 43rd Birthday party in Dumbo on Sep 23rd (altho his actual Bday is on Sep 10th), only invited people came,we heard it was from 10:30pm.
We were there way EARLY, only 15-20 escort girls who were dressed sexy mini skirt with high heels and a few DJs, few guests include Kane's brothers were there. Then actually superstar Big Daddy Kane and his people came around 1AM...Somehow DJs played new school for this OLD SCHOOL SUPER STAR's Birthday party... hey, we dont dance with new schools! Some drunk guys and sexy young girls danced, finally when I heard old school started, the actually old school lover already left for bed time...>< ohhhhh Ohhh. OHHHH!

Anyways, we enjoyed the show once started with Dana Dane whose career began as part of the Kangol Crew with fellow MC Slick Rick, to whom he sounded markedly similar, although Slick Rick's English lilt was actually genuine , it was full of love to this beautiful legend. He was still handsome. So its all good.
Please check out this legend, BIG DADDY KANE who started his career in 1986 as a member of the rap group the Juice Crew with  Biz Markie Marley Marlhistory ---> www.officialbigdaddykane.com/

The left picture that I am posing is taken by hiphop photographer MIZ at the party... I like this picture so as many people ;-)
Thank you Big Jeff for inviting me always!!! Love hanging out with you!!!!!!

One of theFunk shows that I went in this month was... THE METERS on September 15th 2011! it was @Brooklyn Bowl on Questlove's DJ night with Yameen Allworld from Philly.
When I got there, just Questlove sat in with THE METERS and played the drum hard with this funk legend!
The Funky Meters is an American funk band based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Meters performed and recorded their own music from the late 1960s until 1977. You must heard their famous soungs such as <<Cissy Strut>> ! Some are really nice songs still some are used for hiphop and R&B samplings.---> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Meters
After the show till 2AM, Questlove and Yameen Allworld jammed <<SOUL TRAIN NIGHT>> with Funk and 80s music! That was actually great night with good food and great company <3

Then I also went to see one of the P-Funk all satrs member L*A*W concert @ Bitter End.It started late night and honestly I was tired already but nice seeing LAW and his friend, amazing trumpetter, James Ajax Baynard.
He is polished his skill while making many recordings in the 70's and 80's with the Delite Records recording group "The CROWN HEIGHTS AFFAIR". He has also made mane secular records with such groups and artists as DENROY MORGAN *<<I'll do anything for you>>, JOCELYN BROWN *<<SOMEBODAY ELSE'S GUY>>, L.L. COOL J *<<MAMMA SAID KNOCK OUT>>and many others!
Once this James showed up, the show went one level up! His appearance was something...looks like an old school pimp tho... lol He danced well with LAW and that was all cool show! They played from original to P-Funk, Prince and more!!!I introduced Lafayette to those Funk legends at Bitter end and hopefully something great music come out from this connection also!!!
L*A*W will perform with P-FUNK and George Clinton on Oct 8th in Mohawk Funk Festival!!! Lets go~~~!!!!!!!!

LA~LV Funk Journey w/Quaze from PFunk/Snoop,Traffik Noize, Brother J, Lil Pimpin, and more...

LA was waiting for me coming down to experience its wild life!
See, I believe everything happens for the reason. I was told that I would be in LA for anything in September, and here I was, I had a great chance to be in LA.
This is all becoz of MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION, <P-Funk> and George Clinton!!!
I could join the project for Australian Singer Traffik Noize and Quazedelic (Quaze) form P-Funk all stars/Snoop Dogg producer.
Do you remember the movie-<Undercover Brother> with Eddie Griffin, Dennis Richards,Chris Kattan and Snoop Dogg?
You remember the soundtrack of that movie <Undercova Funk> with Snoop Dogg and Bootsy Collins? Thats it! Thats it!!!

First day-I finally got LA at 7PM after having difficulties in NY to get on the flight due to the weather problems... LA was warm although NY was already ready for Autumn-Winter...
We went to recording Studio that is managed by Quaze/his cousin Josef Leimberg who is a Jazz trumpetter/producer straight from LAX airport. James Brown, George Clinton, Bilal, Snoop Dogg, Bootsy Collins, P-Funk members and more people visited this studio and I was there sitting hearing their music!YES Moment!;-)
Second day-After we had Quaze amazing hand made Yammy brunch, they did some making beats session in the Quaze vacation house, we moved to Studio in LA again. That was amazing experience, making footage and meeting up from many young talented producers to legends like Brother J from X-Clan and his clew like Producer LuX. As they are from NY, we talked about the differences between NY and LA life and people. So as LIFE! It was great talk.
It was such a great meeting with KEIKO TSUKADA-san againnnnn! She is a famous hiphop writer for Bmr and more!!!Great to catch up with her again in LA! Thank you so much for your limited time to share with me...I really appreciate it, Keiko san!!!It was great to see Keiko-san and other artists hooked up and be in the circle too~!I hope something great comes out from this connection too.
Third day, again they did some beats session and moved to recording Studio for Traffik project and met some producers there again like MC Chill from original rapper/producer-C.M.W!Had a Jam night at the studio and we had a great time there again...Quaze is such a talented producer!

Forth day, it was sunny fine day....on September 11, we decided to go to LAS VEGAS! Its only 2-3 hours drive from Quaze vacation house, we passed desert, sand , sand ,sand... then LV showed up in middle of no where! We got our hotel-Hilton, then our room number was #1911... on September 11? No kidding!
On the way to our hotel we were joking about the billboard about Australian tribute to BeeGee's Show!
You dont believe this, on the monorail we were talking about going to see BeeGee's show as we had no idea what to do. Then the guy sitting in front of us was a manager, Michael Clift for this show!!!Then more over, this manager is from Melbourne Australia so as Traffik!!!Isnt this something?
Again positivity connects and bring positivities! Be who you are no matter what, no matter where! Then Better life and connection would come to you from them!!!
Well well, I felt LV is such a EGO city, Sin City, Pimp City...I experienced a lot of first things there...!!! It was whole different vibe from Atlantic City in NJ. Vegas is Vegas, serious sin vibe is going on...I guess the city is sounded by desert not by Ocean like Atlantic city thats why all the Ego and Sin vibe stays there, not to be released to the earth or air...hmmm...
Its all good, I had a great time and learnt a lot about USA, about west coast and made me think a lot about my life. In a way this experience opened my eyes up a bit, then reminded me what I forgot about people's life.
Hanging with Lil' Pimpin from (Snoop) Dogg Pound and others at his studio and hang with Limousine car was something...made me really think about women's life.
I know I cant be so serious about things time to time, I just let myself enjoy the moment no matter what.
Fifth day on the way back to LA, the car was overheated so I eneded up missed my flight back to NY.
But you know what, I could see and pray for Tupac where he got shot in Vegas right around the MGM a day before the day he was killed 10 years ago which is September 13th.
I just watched the Movie <NOTORIOUS> that is about Notorious B.I.G the day before I left NY for LA and Vegas and had been thinking about East side and West side Hiphop. Then in that movie, I saw this Tupac's accident and B.I.G's Murder...I even didnt think I would be these important places for hiphop in this trip but this experience made me and educated me a lot musically and historically about US Black cuture.
And from the car we saw one of the members of PFunk house. I could speak to him on the phone as he was on the road with George Clinton, I wish he were there in Vegas to put my life funk up more ;-) haha...
In the car, we had great conversation and learnt each other a lot in positive way. We heard great songs and felt positivity for all of us.
All and all I really enjoyed my stay in LA and Vegas.
Thank you very much for having me there, Quazedelic and Traffik!
And It was great nice meeting all of the people in LA and Vegas!!!
I will come back soon fosho~~~!!!
