Peter Phillips (born June 21, 1970), better known by his stage name Pete Rock, is anAmerican record producer, DJ and rapper. He rose to prominence in the early 1990s as one half of the critically acclaimed group Pete Rock & CL Smooth. After the duo went their separate ways, Rock continued with a solo career that has garnered him worldwide respect, though little in the way of mainstream success.Along with groups such as Stetsasonic, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots and Gang Starr, Rock played a major role in the merging of elements fromjazz into hip hop music (also known as jazz rap). He is widely recognized as one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time, and is often mentioned alongside DJ Premier, the RZA, and J Dillaas one of the mainstays of 1990s East Coast hip hop production. Pete Rock is also the older brother and younger cousin, respectively, of rappers Grap Luva and the late Heavy D.
OHHHH I had a strange dream the day before. I told some people how crazy it was but my dream was awwww...crazy and dont call me FREAK any more !!!lol
I was a student of Funk university. Principle George Clinton pointed me and asked me to explain < what is Anger? > in front of many people. Others were talking about their family or relationship but what i said was.., < the most thing that made me upset is when I see FAKE orgasm in porno!!!> George loved it and gave me good credit, media interviewers chased me to talk about it more!!!
Like this dream, I was so excited to see George again lol! haha~~~
The show day at City Winery, I went there for their Sound check. LAW invited me there and it was my first time to see him with P-Funk members!
Meanwhile Garrett Shider arrived from DC. It was really nice seeing both in NY finally!!! ;-)
We went to Chinese restaurant before the show and talked many different things !!! Exclusive moment!!!
Then we saw the GEORGE CLINTON VAN arriving on the way to City Winery! The number plate is <WE FUNK>! Wow! I didnt know that!
He got the venue at 8PM which the show was supposed to start. This show is Clip's solo project-420 Funk Mob. George was the special guest. http://www.georgeclinton.com/
420 Funk Mob Mike Clipadelic Payne's solo project that Jambase.com stated is "determined to build on the George Clinton legacy if not the full blown return to funkadelic Glory".420 FUNK MOB (Funkadelic Bylaw #420:“Be Kind to Your Neighbor!”) What band can boast a line up of Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famer's and a virtual Who’s Who list of Special Guest Performers? The 420 Funk Mob led by Mike “Clip” Payne, featuring Lige Curry, Mike “Maggot Brain” Hampton, and a revolving cast of fellow members from the legendary Parliament/Funkadelic along with a Crew of Special Guests
Always nice to see Clip, Mike Hampton, Law, Garrett, and of course GEORGE!!!
Again, Jeff was there too... we were making jokes a lot, again this day we had a great night together.
This night again Mothership arrived New York City!!!
LAW was actually killing it, so as Clip, Mike and others. That was a great show and I really enjoyed it.
I was with Barbarella, Carlene and Garrett dancing together while George and others were performing.
After George's performance, he came out to say Hi to people. I of course went to get a big hug from him and he kissed on my cheek and hugged me tight!!! YEYYYYYYYYYYY!!! When I asked him to take a pic together again, he said <I am coming back to you, no worries> I didnt worry, George! I can wait for him forever... lol You are my Dr. Funkenstein!!! "Dr. Funkenstein" is a song by the funk band Parliament. It was the second single released from their 1976 album, The Clones of Dr. Funkenstein, and reached number 46 on the BillboardHot Soul Singles chart. It features newcomer Renny Jones on bass, who also played on two other songs on the album. A live cover of the song was performed by the funk rock band the Red Hot Chili Peppers in the late eighties and appears on the 1998 compilation, Under the Covers: Essential Red Hot Chili Peppers.
He really came back after talking to all the fans!!! YEY!!! And we took pic together with closed P-Funk family. Sorry Garrett, I asked you to take this pic so you were not in... but Garrett, you are so great! And you know I am always here for y'all!!!
